I've been at a wee bit of a standstill with the blog. Partly from school and a heavy workload that comes with it, but also I'm still sort of meandering through some sort of weird evolution in my posts. I'm still not completely sure what kid of blog I want to run. There are tons of absolutely fantastic Primal and Paleo blogs out there. Some are personal pages that allow us to travel along the path with the blogger. Others are very professional information centers with a wealth of resources. Some are a rather nice blend of both. I'm still not completely sure what I'd like to be. Admittedly, I'd like to take the more professional route, but it does take a great deal more work than a personal page, and more work is the last thing I need right now. And yet I want to be a useful resource and provide helpful information and recipes to those looking for knowledge. Maybe with time, or as opportunity presents itself...
I hate indecision... and stagnation.
I'm curious. As a reader, what do YOU like.
Also, I very much want to change some things around visually. Add or remove some pages, links, etc. What's good, what needs to change, what's gotta go? I want to know what YOU think.
Leave a comment below, or send me an e-mail. I'd love to hear from you!
I prefer to read fairly personal blogs, even if they have some kind of particular angle, like primal/paleo research and such. I like tutorials, and not just recipes, but things for the home, and how the main angle of the blog fits into the writers daily life. I'm struggling with figuring out an angle for my blog as well, as I mostly just write for myself and the few friends that read it right now.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like hearing about the blogger's personal journey. As you said, there are tons of professional sites out there for every interest. I'd rather hear what's in your mind and heart.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, I'm a vegetarian and not even a primal/paleo person. Can't recall how I found your blog (perhaps because we're both Pagan?), but I've enjoyed reading it as one of the ones I check in on regularly.
Blessings,
Nikki
Hello gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFirst off... I love YOU for who YOU are... so when reading a blog I want to read a blog that reflects that person. I love that your spirituality is a thread that is woven into your blog. I love that your intelligence is also always present. I absolutely adore the different recipes on the blog that you are willing to share. When you are struggling with something I even love your blog more because then I remember that you (like me) are human and have hard days too. That is something I think is hard to keep in check when friends are all from the net, its easier for me to put you (and other primals) on pedistals because I don't see you day to day ;)
Either way-generally what I want is anything and everything you are willing to share.
Appearance wise-I think it is ok. there are quite a few links on the side but i utilize them. And I like that. I like the color wouldn't mind more but hey-you've seen my blog! :D
Love you DR!
Thank you SO much for your input ladiez! Running a more personal blog is definitely easier in some ways- not to mention it's a pretty darn good stress-reduction tool. :)
ReplyDeleteI do want to re-vamp the appearance of the blog since spring is coming. Something new and fresh for the new year, ya know!? I still dream that one day I can be free from blogger and have a completely custom-built blog. :D
